Goodwill’s Mission Services Department provides work and job skills training (including workshops in career exploration, resume writing and interviewing), job placement and retention services to individuals residing in Wayne and Holmes Counties. In addition, we help connect individuals to community services such as transportation, mental health, housing and more. Each participant gets assigned a Case Manager to guide them through the process. The Mission Services Department can connect virtually anyone who is willing and able to work to a BETTER job and a BRIGHTER future.

What I have learned in the Goodwill program, is to always think about the future and what you want to do and to also be prepared. For example, getting my permit then driving license and following through to getting a car.

Hope
My case manager motivates me more to get up on my feet and do big things such as get good grades and keep my job.

Corey
People should use Goodwill's services because you learn about jobs and how to prepare for them. The curriculum has taught me job skills, how to hold a job, what to expect from a job, and important life skills.

I liked how they [Goodwill] treated me with kindness, respect and were very helpful when needed.

Damian
The Goodwill program taught me how to maintain my momentum of success within the workforce and life outside of it.

Noah
Goodwill helped me get back on my feet.; my life was going in the wrong direction. I was on probation and could not see a way out. Not only did they help me find a job, but provided life skills and educations rewards. Now I am employed at the Retail Store and made Honor Roll.

Nurain (Sammy)
The wonderful staff in the [Goodwill] program
are very helpful, caring, and supportive. They
introduced me to the career world. They provide
me with training on how to write a good resume,
business email, career exploration, presentation
and grooming skills as well as transportation to
and from these training. They have also helped
prepare me for the Boys and Girls Club National
Youth of the Year competition. ...

I struggled my whole life to overcome the stigma that is often associated with my disability. With limited mobility in my arm, employers were resistant to let me prove myself. Buehler's stepped up to the "plate" and gave me an opportunity to showcase my abilities through the Goodwill's Supportive Employment Program. With Goodwill's support I finally have the encouragement needed to successfully disprove the stigma that followed me through life and have a stable, fulfilling employment.
