Who doesn't love a DIY project under $15? This fun project is not only budget friendly, but is ALSO super easy to do! If you're anything like me, you love projects that allow you to be creative and keep you busy. This one was super fun for me because every outcome for anyone who does this will be different. You are giving yourself to opportunity to be unique while also getting some inspiration from others. Keep reading for an easy step-by-step guide on how to create your own wicker basket wall decor!
This step isn't necessary to create your fun wall hangings, it's just an extra step if you want to add your own pizzazz to your baskets! Although Goodwill sometimes will have craft paint, this time for me, they didn't. If you can't find any craft paint while your there, just head over to your local craft store and grab yourself of $1 paint and some brushes! This is where you get to be creative and choose your own colors. I chose black, white, and a sea foam color.
Let them dry and hang in your desired spot. Yes, it really is that simple! Once your baskets are dry (if you chose to paint them), they are ready. The most fun part about these for me was that you can put them any way you want. There really is no rhyme or reason to how they are hung, they can just sort of be scattered however you want. I chose my dining room for this set but I have a feeling I'm going to making another trip to Goodwill for some more in the near future!
Head over to on of our Goodwill Stores and grab yourself some awesome $1 wicker baskets. I bought all of these at our Wooster location and each of them were just a dollar! One of my favorite parts about this project was picking out the baskets - there were so many to choose from and it was so fun to find different shapes and sizes.
Feel free to have fun with your colors! Mix them, keep them as is, - whatever you want. I mixed some black and white with my sea foam color to create more earth tones - because those are the colors I have in my home!
